Until Ava is walking, we bought Logan this walker toy when he was 9 months old and he really didn't touch it until he was 11 months old, Ava on the other hand has already taken off with it. Such different little people, so fun!

Logan's Dentist Visit
We are exhausted!
Logan had his fillings done today, everything went fine other than having to give him a third type of sedative because the "cocktail" and nitrous oxide wasn't enough to put him out, he put up a good fight and as the dentist said he is very strong. They did x-rays which they couldn't do at his cleaning because he was so upset, so we knew he had to have fillings, but we didn't know if there was anything worse than just surface cavities, thankfully that is all they were. After Logan drank the medicine he came back out to the waiting room with me and Ava (Matt was with him when he did the drink) and it started to kick in pretty fast, picture a 3 year old drunk....it was funny until he got really drowsy then he was just difficult. I ended up carrying him back to the chair, we had to put him into one of those boards that Velcro's a blanket around him like when he got his stitches last summer, so of course he flipped out for that, it took a good 5+ minutes until he finally was quite and I slipped out the door once they got him on the heart monitor (NICU flash back, all those hours I sat there watching his monitors, praying and willing his respiration's to go down and here he as hooked up on a monitor again) and his heart rate slowed (his heart was pounding like crazy) Matt, Ava and I stayed in the waiting room until he was done, he woke up a little when Matt picked him up and then put him in the van, but he pretty much slept until 3pm. Matt had went into work around 1:30 while he was still sleeping, but once he woke up it was crazy time and I had to have Matt come home from work, as he was not reacting well to the sedation wearing off. He fell twice and hit his head because I was trying to get him something to eat, he didn't know what he wanted, crying, stumbling, fighting me, then cuddling. I couldn't take care of both of them so Matt came home. I finally got him back to sleep at 6, and that was after three of the hardest hours I have had with him in his almost 4 years of life. I had a big glass of wine with dinner tonight...
So glad this is behind us now, very nerve wracking having your child under anesthesia, and please can Logan get a break for awhile now, we both need it!

Ava Update!
Ava had her 9 month check up on Thursday (which happened to be my birthday!).
Ava is 21lbs 8oz (95th %) and 29 inches (95%) and her head I think was 46 and off the chart just like her big brother.
Developmentally she is perfect and even a little ahead for her age, but we knew that she is a Ms. Smartypants for sure
Doctor had no worries at all, such a welcomed relief after always having something going on with Logan the first two years of his life.
Ava got her last hep B shot and I think we are going to delay her MMR and Chicken Pox until her 15 month appointment. Dr. S said she was going to do it at 12 months but since my Dad is immune suppressed due to his kidney transplants when ever one of the kids gets a live virus vax such as the MMR he has to stay away from them for a whole month. They are "contagious" to someone with a weakened immune system because it is a live virus. Logan was given his MMR at 15 months so we expected Ava to get hers then as well and had kind of made tentative plans for Dad for January. To do it in October would be to hard, to many birthday parties etc and Dad would have to miss out on everything.
Ava also got a pretty nasty diaper area rash after eating a strawberry and banana combo food, so Dr.S wrote us a prescription for some lotion for her and no more strawberries for Ava until she is older. I had given her a little container a few weeks ago and she got a couple of red bumps similar to the ones she has now and thought ti might be strawberry related (strawberries are one of those touchy foods for infants) and when when I gave her the big jar of it last week she really broke out so bye bye to strawberries for now!
Next well visit is at 1 year which is only 3 months away...how is that even possible?

Help For A Very Special Boy!
Click Me!
As I may have mentioned before, I belong to a wonderful message board that started as a due date club back in 2006 when we were all pregnant with October 2006 babies. This group is very special and we have hung tight through the past 4 years and these ladies are truly a blessing in my life.
One of the mom's on the broad, who I happen to know in real life as well, she is a Chicago area mom, has a very special boy, who just couldn't wait until October to come into this world and was born in July of 2006 and unfortunately has many medical issues to deal with due to his prematurity. We are organizing this blog (click on the button above) to help Robin and Mikey with his medical and therapy expenses. These are two very special people, that have been through so much, and have dealt with more than a lot of people will in their whole lives.
I know times are tough right now, but any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated by this wonderful mommy and her miracle boy!

Brandi's New Etsy Shop Is Open!
So I am sure you have all noticed Ava's adorable flower headbands in a lot of her pictures, well Brandi makes those for her and Brandi has gotten so many compliments when she wears them and then people asking where she gets them from, and then when they find out she makes them, they tell her she should sell them! So she thought what a good idea and My Little Petal's was born. Right now she has flower headbands and monogram flower headbands, as well as flower pen pots available. She is finishing up working on a few flower beanie hats and should have them up shortly. Please take a look and feel free to pass along her Etsy store address to anyone that might be interested! They make adorable gifts and are super cute for photo's of the little petal in your life!

4th Of July Fun At The Farm
We spent the 4th up in WI at the farm, it was Ava's first trip up there of course and our first time taking a baby up there (we didn't go up when Logan was her age) and other than Ava not enjoying the long car ride, she did great! Logan loved having some freedom to play outside and get dirty. Logan enjoyed digging with his grandpas in the barn a good part of one of the days we were up there. Matt was able to go see fireworks while I stayed back at the house with the sleeping kiddies, which was fine with me I was exhausted and it was raining on and off so it just wouldn't have been fun for me. All in all a good trip, hopefully we will make it back in the fall, as it's our favorite time to be up there! Here are some pictures!

Fun At Chicago Childern's Museum!
We headed back down to Navy Pier this morning, this time with the kiddies in tow and we met up with some of my wonderful mommy friends from the on-line community that I have been apart of since I was pregnant with Logan. A very special group of ladies for sure and I am lucky enough to live close to a few of them and we get together for meet ups when we can (or when someone is in town as in this case). We headed over the Chicago Children's Museum, which we have never been too. It was a pretty nice Children's museum and the kids had fun (we ended up staying until about 3:15 because Logan was having so much fun, luckily traffic wasn't too bad on the way home). It was nice to see the mommies again and meet another for the first time! MOGO moms are the best for sure! Here are some pictures of Logan and Ava having a blast...
