Mom's Night!

After already having Dad's night and Grandparents day at preschool it was finally my turn to have a special day at preschool with Logan!

We had a lot of fun playing, painting, making chalkboard crafts, coloring, snacking and signing last night! Logan was very excited to show me all the fun stuff at school, and he did all the songs during singing time, and he was sooo cute! All the kids made crowns for their Mom's to wear and we all got a pretty flower at the end. What a fun night!

17 Months!

Ava turned 17 months on Tuesday, time sure is flying...

While she was working on her painting project, I was taking a bunch of pictures of her. She ended up painting a good portion of her body since I took her clothes off while she was working on her project. I hope she enjoys it, I won't be doing that again any time soon LOL!

More Crafty Fun!

I ended up going back to Target and picked up another fun craft for the kids to do. I got this super cute herb garden set, I thought it would be great since Logan is very into plants and planting things, he watches "Planting A Rainbow" on demand about 100 times a day and Matt is always saying we need to grow herbs so we have some fresh so perfect I thought.

I ended up putting the terracotta paint on first and let that dry and then me and the kids each painted a out and planted our seeds.

Logan helped make the dirt as well and Ava, well lets just say she ended up in the bathtub after we were done (FYI getting wood type paint out of toddler hair is a nightmare).
ItalicLogan checks on the herbs every day and we keep the dirt moist waiting to see the first sprouts!

Fun Stuff!

Logan is learning about dinosaurs at school right now which he is loving and he brought home some dinosaur fossils they made, he is very proud of them!

The kids had fun painting birdhouse wind-chimes the other day. Ava really loves to paint (and try to eat it...) she sat for a long time painting her wind chime. Logan did a great job on his as well, he is getting much more detailed with his art work now. The kids gave them to Grandma for her birthday!

Parent-Teacher Conference

Logan had his second parent-teacher conference last week and we got an awesome report back on him! He is doing so wonderfully in preschool, we really couldn't be more proud of him!

This conference was focused more on the academic areas of preschool, where is first conference was more based on the social aspects. His teachers had a folder of a bunch of his work, some from the beginning of the year and some from now so we could see how much progress he has made. He got his shape certificate, he knew all his shapes. He counted unaided to 30 (his teacher said most kids get tied up in the teens, but he did great and got all the way until 3o) He can cut out a circle and write his name very well. He is drawing appropriate for his age. He has friends, plays well and solves his own conflicts. He follows directions very well and does great during rug time. He sings during music class (I always peek in on him at the end of the day and he is always singing along at the end of circle time, he's just not a performer haha!) He got a great report from his gym teacher, only thing he isn't proficient at yet is skipping which is hard for kids this age and he works on it at gymnastics as well so not worried about that. His teacher said he has a good time with the art projects. The teacher also mentioned that he excelled at the early math game where there is a bunch of cups with numbers written on bottom and the kids have to put the corresponding number of beans in the cup, Logan got all the way up to cup 8, much farther than most kids get!

So he is doing wonderfully, and to think of where he was when he was Ava's age and to see him now caught up and surpassing his peers puts a big smile on our faces!

His teacher had a bunch of cute pictures in his folder as well, as soon as I get them scanned I will post them!
