For the first time since Logan was a baby, we didn't head up to Brandi's family's place in WI for the 4th. Matt doesn't have any vacation time yet since he started the new job on May, so we stayed at home and had a lot of fun anyway!
We took the kids to the parade which just happens to run a street up from our house! It was the first parade Logan and Ava have ever seen so that was exciting. Other than Logan being a little nervous when all the fire and police horns and sirens were going off, they seemed to enjoy it. Of course their favorite part was having candy thrown at them, they have a bag full to rival their Halloween haul!
After the parade we went home and spent the day outside in the pool and just hanging around. We grilled out dinner and just had a nice relaxing day, it was kinda nice not traveling this year!
We skipped fire works, the kids were beat and Logan is not a fan, we did do some little ones I picked up at the store and of course sparklers and that was just fine for Logan. We did see a lot of real fireworks Sunday night while we were driving back from Dundee, and Logan liked seeing those since they didn't have the noise attached to them, maybe next year!
